Join us for a Lenten gathering of Soup, Bread, and Prayer on Wednesday nights during Lent at 7 PM, at the Chapter House (7985 Park Drive, Fair Oaks).
The format will be very easy-going: hot soup, bread, and some prayer. We’ll provide the food, and you’ll provide the prayer. We’ll read the Scriptures for the coming Sunday as we eat a simple meal, then devote the rest of our time to prayer.
Note: Please try to let Pastor Chris know if you’re coming, and, if you like, sign up with him to bring soup and/or bread one Wednesday evening.
We’ll begin on Wednesday night, February 25 and conclude on the Wednesday before Holy Week (March 25). The event lasts about an hour and a half.
What a lovely spiritual discipline with your brother and sisters to add to help you keep a holy Lent. Looking forward to seeing you!
A note about the art you see here: The image used for this post is a painted version of the famous photograph titled “Grace” by Eric Enstrom (c. 1920). The original photo was taken at Enstrom’s studio in Bovey, MN, and the model was a local peddler named Charles Wilden. Enstrom first licensed the photo in the 30s, and later in the 40s, his daughter colorized the photo by hand. It is that version that was circulated more widely and became the most popular.
