In preparation for our fall retreat, we’ve got a terrific series of small groups that start the week of September 22.
There will be three pre-retreat sessions and two or three follow-up sessions afterwards. Join us as we dig into the background and context of the wilderness Tabernacle and get ready for what is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the October retreat.
Our three small group sessions before the retreat will provide a general overview of the wilderness Tabernacle and will include the history of the people of Israel, from Genesis through the early chapters of Exodus, through the lens of altars and sacrifices, and also a look at the theology of covenant and the presence of God.
There are four groups to choose from:
- Sundays at 6 PM, at the Epiclesis Chapel (Carmichael), led by Pastor Chris.
- Also on Sundays at 6 PM, at the home of Pastor Rick and Deanne Asche (in the Lincoln area). (With an evening meal).
- Mondays at 7 PM, at the Epiclesis Chapter House (Fair Oaks Village) (led by Pastor Ellen and Loren Koehler).
- Wednesdays at 7 PM at the Covell home (in the Orangevale area), led by Norm Covell and Donald Bowes.
And here’s some exciting news: Special guest Dr. Teresa Gardner (right), Holy Land/Tabernacle expert, will be on hand to lead the third session! She will lead us in a study of the furnishings of the Tabernacle and show us how receiving and responding to the Lord at each of them provided a journey into the very presence of God.
Teresa is the founder of an international dance ministry based in Charlotte, NC, and a frequent traveler to Israel (she calls it her second home) with over 50 visits and counting.
