Plus… they hope to also have a time for prayer and answering any questions about this mission to the Caribbean island nation.
Mark your calendars for: Sunday, May 20, 4-6 PM (Carmichael Chapel).
What’s this Mission All About?
Mother and daughter team Christy and Caris are heading to Haiti this summer for a mission of mercy. Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, is a mountainous place. In fact “Hayti” is the Indian name for the country and means “land of the mountains.” The country lies in the path of many hurricanes and in 2008 faced destruction from four tropical storms. In 2010, thousands of people were killed and the presidential palace in Port-au-Prince was destroyed in a 7.0 earthquake.
It’s set to be a busy trip: In addition to serving at the Village of Hope school and Little Children of Jesus orphanage, Christy and Caris will also be traveling to rural villages and doing VBS-type of activities where they will serve food and minister to both children and adults.
