Our retreat leader:
Sheila Alford is a transplant from the South who has been in ministry for over 25 years with her husband Chris. She is a storyteller who loves to share what God has done in her life and about her many adventures with Him.
Her journey has included childhood depression, chronic sicknesses, being a child of divorce, several healings, including Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, raising two children, and serving in ministry alongside Chris.
Over the years, Sheila has not only learned how to hear God’s voice, but how to work alongside Him. Sheila is known for her humility and a quiet, but deep, spiritual life. In some ways, she is most at home when combining her love of listening to the Holy Spirit in difficult and dark places, including Burning Man, with direct and personal ministry. She is known for the tender and compassionate way she communicates the love of Jesus to people on the fringes of society.
While God has used her unique qualities in ministry, she strongly believes that any believer can learn to hear Him more effectively and have their own amazing adventures.
An aspiring children’s book author, Sheila’s remarkable story about forgiveness and how it healed her relationship with her father was published in Inspire Forgiveness: Inspiring Stories of God’s Gift of Forgiveness, an anthology published by Inspire Christian Writers.
