Make plans to join an Epiclesis small group during Lent as we explore what Dietrich Bonhoeffer has called the “Prayer book of the Bible.”
The sessions start the week of Sunday, February 18.
Titled “New Orientation …A Spiritual Journey through the Psalms,” our 5-week series will take a careful look at several Psalms to see how these prayers reflect and express each season in the life of faith. In each– from times of settled contentment, through seasons of disorientation and change, and into seasons of new orientation and wellbeing– God’s presence is revealed in new and surprising ways, and we discover anew the gifts of faith and joy found in the Psalms. And as we journey together, we will see reflected, in new and surprising ways, the image of Christ, in whose footsteps we walk during the season of Lent.
We have four groups to choose from: Two on Sunday nights, both at 6 PM: One, with potluck dinner, led by Pastor Rick (email link) in the Lincoln area (map link), and another one led by Pastor Chris (email link) at the Carmichael Chapel (map link); Then we have a Monday night group (7 PM) in the Fair Oaks area (map link) led by Ellen and Loren Koehler (email link); and finally a Wednesday night group (7 PM) in the Orangevale area (map link) led by Don Bowes (email link) and Norm Covell.
