Jeremiah’s call to return to the ancient paths is as compelling today as it was 27 centuries ago. It’s a call to walk alongside patriarchs and prophets, priests and kings, disciples and their rabbis– to become a pilgrim– to see, hear, and touch Scripture as they did through the land where most of our faith-forming events took place. We’re hoping you join Dr. Chris Alford and Dr. Teresa Gardner on the ancient paths in October, 2018, as we travel to Israel and Jordan.
We’ll explore the Holy Land– the “Fifth Gospel,” as Jerome called it– visit major biblical sites, walk where Jesus and his disciples walked, and worship where they worshiped.
Pastor Chris will lead worship and teaching during our trip. Dr. Gardner is known to many in the Epiclesis community for her visits to our church, her international dance ministry, and her nearly 50 trips to Israel. Along the way, we’ll have expert, local guides to supplement our journey.
And this trip includes TWO additional once-in-a-lifetime experiences: The stunning fortress of Masada, PLUS a journey to the ancient City of Petra in Jordan.
We will also see: the Dead Sea, Ein Gedi, Qumran, Capernaum, Caesarea, the Mount of Beatitudes, Tiberias, Caesarea Philippi, Golan Heights, Mt. Carmel, all the major sites in Jerusalem, and Eilat.
Our tentative dates and details: October 10-22, 2018. The all-inclusive tour cost includes round trip airfare, first-rate hotel accommodation (double occupancy), all breakfast and dinners, local guides and motor coaches, entrance fees, and tips. The total projected cost for your budgeting is: $5,350. Several factors will contribute to the final price, which we hope will decrease: The total number of folks traveling (we’re gathering more as we go along and that may help bring costs down– so far we have about 36 on our interest list), the air ticket prices we’re able to lock in, flight details for folks not in the Sacramento area, etc.).
At this point (August, 2017), we need to identify the folks who are interested in going. The trip is also open to folks not based in the Sacramento area. So, let’s hear from you!
Sound intriguing? Please email Pastor Chris.
